The damage control plugs we manufacture are made using Douglas Fir, Hem Fir, White Pine, Ponderosa Pine, Sugar Pine, and SPF. In addition to the softwood damage control plugs listed below, we also offer Redwood Pipe Plugs in other sizes.
ISAF Special Regulation 4.03 Soft Wood Plugs
Soft wood plugs, tapered and of the approximate size, shall be attached or stowed adjacent to the appropriate fitting for every through-hull opening.
Custom pipe & patching plug sizes available upon request. Depending on raw material availability it is often necessary to laminate wood blanks for the larger plug sizes. Waterproof adhesive is used when manufacturing all laminated blanks. These conical tapered softwood plugs listed below are used for damage control on Naval vessels and are manufactured according to naval specifications. They are designed to be used in the patching and plugging of hulls and pipes. These plugs are also used by many Diving and Salvage companies.
